Today is my first post along my journey to becoming a Unity Software Developer.

Here is how I got here:

  1. Graduate college with a degree in Graphic Design, even though this type of art was not something I enjoyed making.
  2. Spend a year unemployed, in the midst of Covid, wondering how the heck I’m gonna go anywhere in life.
  3. Decide that I’m gonna make some stories in my head that I had for years come to life by making a game.
  4. Realize I have no idea where to start.
  5. Watch Thomas Brush, GDC, and other youtubers about making games.
  6. Realize that I am in way over my head.
  7. Made a smaller game idea.
  8. Watch some Udemy courses on coding c#.
  9. Get a job at a grocery store because money is running low.
  10. Realize that while I started my new job I forgot practically everything I learned.
  11. Got an email from GamedevHQ about a program to help coding stick, and getting a career in Unity development.
  12. Freaked out at the thought of committing to a career path.
  13. Joined anyway, its sounds like an opportunity I would regret passing up.
  14. Here I am.
